　　 大多數地名不用冠詞,但也有很多的地名必須要加上冠詞,這與地名的構成有關,也與習慣有關。

　　 2.用法指南

　　 1.自然界中的一些地理名稱大多要加the,例如:河流、湖泊、運河、海洋、海峽、沙漠、山脈。

　　 河流:the Yellow River 黃河 the Nile 尼羅河

　　 湖泊:the West Lake 西湖 the Great Lakes 五大湖

　　 運河:the Panama Canal 巴拿馬運河

　　 海洋:the Pacific 太平洋 the Atlantic 大西洋

　　 海峽:the English Channel 英吉利海峽

　　 沙漠:the Sahara 撒哈拉大沙漠

　　 山脈:the Rocky Mountains 洛基山脈

　　 2.只有一個詞的國家名,一般不加冠詞。

　　 China 中國 France 法國 Russia 俄羅斯 Brazil 巴西

　　 3.由普通名詞構成,或含有普通名詞的國名或地名前須加the。

　　 1.一周中的七天,一年中的月份不用冠詞。

　　 We have Mr. Lee's class on Wednesday.

　　 我們周三有李先生的課。

　　 Christmas Day is on 25th of December.

　　 圣誕節是12月25日。

　　 2.節日不用加冠詞。

　　 Easter 復活節 National Day 國慶節

　　 但如果節日中有festival,通常須加上冠詞。

　　 the Spring Festival 春節

　　 3.四季名稱可加the,也可以不加the, 但是在in the fall 中的the不能省略。

　　 Spring/The spring comes earlier this year.

　　 春天今年來得早一些。

　　 4.last+表示時間的名詞不加冠詞。

　　 last Wednesday 上個星期三 last week 上周 last month 上個月
